1. Digital Malaysia is a programme to create an ecosystem that promotes the pervasive use of ICT in all aspects of the economy to connect communities globally and interacting in real time resulting in increased Gross National Income (GNI), enhanced productivity and an improved standard of living.
This will result in a vibrant digital economy that connects and empowers government, businesses and citizens.

2. MDeC’s role in Digital Malaysia projects:
a)To design, build and drive the Digital Malaysia programme
b)To serve as the singular coordinating body for the entire programme
c)To ensure that Digital Malaysia continues to draw on the changes and advancements in digital technology
d)To ensure consistent and frequent updates and reports on the progress of Digital Malaysia
e) To provide input on projects that may have an impact on Digital Malaysia

3. Anyone can participate in Digital Malaysia projects. Participation may be in the form of:
a)Providing ideas that form the basis of Digital Malaysia projects; or,
b)As project partner* that initiate and implement Digital Malaysia project; or,
c)As beneficiary by participating in the DM initiatives or activities.

| 4. Proposed Digital Malaysia’s project must have ICT / digital elements and alignment to Digital Malaysia Initiatives’ Strategic Intent & target communities.

| 5. Only 4 communities and initiatives identified for intervention under Digital Malaysia; Digital Entrepreneurs, B40 Community, SMEs, Digital Savvy- Youth.

| 6. Currently 8 Digital Malaysia projects have been rolled out to-date.

a) Alignment to DM Strategic Intents and C&I targets

| 9. Process related; Applications can be made online via the Digital Malaysia website. Forms are available on the website along with guidelines and tips on filling the forms. Currently, process cycle time is around 6 months if all the required information is provided when the project proposal is first submitted, and no public funding is required.

| 10. MSC Malaysia was specifically about ICT development. Digital Malaysia is a holistic approach that will encompass existing initiatives and new ones. It will complement MSC Malaysia which will continue to focus on the ICT sector.
