This dissertation proposal will be conducting research on the influence that Human Resource Management (HRM) practices have on discretionary effort. Organizations strive for their employees to work at their maximum output, however, at the end of the day it is the employee that chooses to exercise that effort (discretionary effort). Therefore, organizations need to be aware of the factors (HRM practices) that encourage the employee to elicit effort. This research will look into the different factors and measure the influence it may or may not have on an employee's discretionary effort.
This online questionnaire will ask a series of questions that directly pertain to your own experiences regarding the HRM practices that are offered to you and the amount of effort that you exert at work.
The questionnaire should only take you between 10 and 20 minutes to complete.
The data gathered during the research will only be used for my MSc dissertation, your answers will
not
be attributed to either yourself or to any project which you work for or have worked for. Your own personal data will be completely anonymous and you will not be identifiable. Please note that the completed dissertation will be made available to NAIT and to you, if you please.
