You are invited to participate in this survey for my Dissertation. In this survey, approximately 30-50 people will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about companies who operate in the UK who practice tax avoidance schemes. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important to learn your opinions on this subject matter.
Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in my dissertation. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. It has been well documented that certain large companies, especially global firms such as AMAZON, GOOGLE and STARBUCKS, who combined, earn billions in revenue each year, have been involved in using tax avoidance schemes, in respect of their UK sales, resulting in the UK government losing out on hundreds of millions of pounds in corporation tax. This has left other smaller companies and the general public to make up the difference. Despite the fact that these companies have been heavily criticised by both the UK government and the media for using these schemes, they are perfectly legal and not to be confused with tax evasion, which is illegal.
