The Department of Environment, Water & Natural Resources (DEWNR) is undertaking a business case to investigate the feasibility of introducing a state-wide dog and cat information system. This is a direct result of the ministerial commitment which states:

Labor will commission a business case for a publicly accessible database. This will also consider supporting councils with online registration and fee payment services.
