Dear Participant,

You are being invited to take part in a research study about the academic and occupational success of Caribbean and American university students. If you take part in this study, you will be one of about 350 people to do so.
The persons in charge of this study are Jason Wynter, M.Sc. of Northern Caribbean University, Kerrie Wilkins, M.A. and Dr. Terence J.G. Tracey of Arizona State University, in the United States.

By doing this study we hope to learn more about the influential factors that contribute to the academic and occupational success of Caribbean university students.

Your participation in this study will involve filling out an anonymous online survey that will take no more than 20 minutes of your time. If you decide to take part in the study, it should be because you really want to volunteer. There will be no penalty and you will not lose any benefits or rights you would normally have if you choose not to volunteer. No one on the research team will behave any differently toward you if you choose not to participate in the study. You can stop at any time during the study and still keep the benefits and rights you had before volunteering. To the best of our knowledge, the things you will be doing have no more risk of harm than you would experience in everyday life. You will not receive any payment or reward for taking part in this study.

Your responses will be anonymous, and no identifying information will be solicited. All surveys will be stored in a locked and secure file cabinet at the principal investigator’s office in 401 Payne Hall at Arizona State University. The principal investigators and an authorized doctoral student will be the only people who have access to the data. The results of this study may be used in reports, presentations, or publications only in the aggregative form. Your participation in the survey will be considered as your consent to participate in the study.
