In this survey, you will be presented with 23 pairs of bird songs. Please listen to the two bird songs (each song is presented twice) and assess their similarity in pitch, tone, complexity, etc., and rank each pair of songs on a scale of 0 to 4 in terms of their overall DIFFERENCE in song. A score of 0 indicates that the songs are practically indistinguishable, while a score of 4 indicates no resemblance between the two songs. Before the survey begins, you will review a set of already-ranked songs.

The recordings you will hear were recorded in a variety of locations at different times. Try to disregard differences in background noise and/or recording quality, and focus on the degree of difference between the songs themselves. You may play the songs as many times as you like before entering a score, but you cannot change your rating after you press "continue".

Please take the survey only once.
