RESEARCH PROJECT
"THE IMPACT OF AFFECTIVE FACTORS RELATED TO WORK ON THE JOB SATISFACTION OF EMPLOYEES IN A TEXAS URBAN SCHOOL DISTRICT"
You have been asked to participate in a research study investigating the Impact of Affective Factors Related to Work on the Job Satisfaction of Employees in an Urban Texas School District. You were selected to be a potential participant because you met the following criteria: 1.) you are an employee of North Forest Independent School District (NFISD) 2.) you worked for North Forest Independent School District during the 2008 – 2009 school year. A total of 1068 people have been asked to participate in this study. This research will provide valuable information to both educational and non educational organizations, with regard to the realtionship between work related variables, and how they impact employee Job satisfaction. Data collection for this study is estimated to take approximately 3 – 4 weeks.
If you agree to be in this study you will be asked to fill out a Likert-typed scale survey instrument. Participant involvement will consist of filling out a survey that will take approximately 8 - 10 minutes. There are no significant forseeable risks associated with this project. The risks associated with this study are minimal, and relate only to the discomfort that may be caused by filling out the survey instrument. There are no individual or group benefits to participating in this study.
This study is strictly anonymous. The names of identified participants will not appear on the survey or e-mail headers that will be identifiable to any other participant, etc. Furthermore, no list of names of potential participants was collected prior to initiating this study. The records of this study will be kept private. No identifiers linking you to the study will be included in any sort of report that might be published. Research records will be stored securely or destroyed appropriately, and only Johnny R. O’Connor, Jr., PhD. – primary research investigator, will have access to the records, once received. Your decision whether or not to participate will not affect your current relationship with North Forest Independent School District. If you decide to participate, you are free to refuse to answer any of the questions that make you uncomfortable. You can withdraw from participating in the survey, at anytime, without your relationship with NFISD (job, benefits, etc.) being affected. You can contact Johnny R. O’Connor, Jr., PhD. at [email protected] with any questions about this study.
