I am in the third and last year of a general management degree in the Irish Management Institute. The final part of this degree programme is the submission of a dissertation. I have chosen Performance Management as the topic for my dissertation; within this area I intend to concentrate on the usage of rating systems.

Research is an integral part of the IMI dissertation; this includes the comparison of data from different organisations. To aid with this objective and to help me reflect as broad a view as possible, I hope to select a small number of organisations and collect primary data through the use of one to one interviews and questionnaires. To aid me in identifying a suitable cross-section of organisations I would appreciate if you could answer this brief questionnaire.

Please be assured that confidentiality will be maintained. Whilst it would be my intention to a give a brief overview of each organisation studied as part of the dissertation, actual results will be referred to as Company A, Company B etc with no association between the company overview and the research results.
