Once registered, you may bring your car to any one      of our more than 9,000 participating PrivateOwnerUSA® full-service car washes across the country to be cleaned or detailed and then VIN scanned and photographed for display on our national database where millions of privately   owned vehicles are bought and sold.

Curbstoners are car “flippers” – people who regularly buy cheap cars, fix them up to look decent, and sell them for a quick profit. They often pose as the car’s owner, but they’re not – so they can dodge limits on the number of vehicles    an individual can sell before having to register as a dealer, and to avoid paying tax.

Curbstoned vehicles may be lemons, salvaged, or even cobbled together from parts from the wrecking yard. They may have been written off as total losses by insurance companies due to collision, flood or other damage.

Sometimes, unethical used car dealers use curbstoning as a way to get rid of duds they can’t sell on their lots.

Our leading technology is based upon non-intrusive 3D facial recognition which provides accurate matching using 40,000 data points, and can distinguish identical twins in under a second. 3D facial recognition technology is already used in banks, ATMs, airports, and casinos for identification or in verification. Our leading technology is in operation 24/7 to monitor and enforce the prohibition on used car dealer, used car broker, and curbstoner use of our service!

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Most consumers wish to meet at a safe, neutral location rather than to meet at their homes when buying or selling           a car. Our registered buyer and seller make initial contact through our online application interface and then meet at        a participating PrivateOwnerUSA® full-service car wash during normal business hours where our leading technology checks the status of each. Upon verifying good standing of both buyer and seller and recording the meeting, car inspection, test-drive, negotiation, and any final exchange may proceed onsite and/or offsite.

Proceeding onsite, in concern for safety and security, we secure driver license information and take a digital photo of you both behind the car to be test-driven, with license plate in plain view. Upon return from the test-drive, both of you are required to inform us of your return—security through certainty.
