Dear Coaches,

This is a survey with questions created and distributed by our Coach Advisory Group representing all three regions. Dorothy Harper and John Schmitt represent SoCal, Nettie Sandoval and Gabe Escalera represent Central Valley, and Yolanda Peeks and Cathy Townsley represent NorCal.

Previously this group has surveyed you during your Project Lead and Regional Coaches meetings on the topic of Coach Recruitment and Training.

The purpose of this set of questions created by your regional representatives is to understand the best way to clarify how coaches exit their employment with PLP as an organization. This feedback is meant to help PLP understand better how to be both transparent and in good faith support our coach network to best serve both our organizational needs and client needs.

Future topics will include: technology to support the coach network, communication and connection between 731 as a hub of support, and how regions are staffed to support the work of coaches.

The deadline to complete this survey is November 7, 2011 to give your colleagues enough time to compile this information prior to their next Coach Advisory Group meeting where they'll provide your region's feedback to the full group.

Understanding that professional growth is a personal responsibility as a lifelong learner, what are some of the best ways you have found to remain current in the field as a retiree still engaged with school districts across the state?

What role do you think PLP should have in supporting their coaches/staff in the field to remain up to date on best practices/process/procedures?

Should there be a term limit for PLP coaches? If so, how long?

Should there be an assessment process at some point based on meeting certain criteria for professional growth/learning to jointly determine with the organization if/whether/how a coach will continue in his/her capacity as a PLP coach? If yes, what should be included in that assessment process and what are the criteria?

If coaches do not meet certain criteria for professional growth/learning mentioned above what do you think would be the best way for that coach to exit PLP as an organization?
