Instructions: Please carefully read the following information. Imagine yourself as the employee and visualize the situation and how you would feel.

Background Information: You are currently an employee of a major call center. You have been at your current position as an entry level technician for about 2 years. Recently competition has been fierce as more companies are entering the market and more call centers are being outsourced overseas where it is cheaper to provide service. The company has recently been discussing the adoption of a new application that will allow them to better compete with their competitors.

Scenario: The workday begins as usual until about 11:00 a.m. The company sends out an e-mail that you and your fellow employees are to report to the conference room for an announcement from management. You get up from your desk and walk down the hallway to the conference room where you and the rest of your fellow colleagues gather in the conference room. Upon entering the conference room you find your boss seated at the head of the table along with another man in a suit. After everyone enters the room, your boss introduces the gentleman as technical consultant who will be introducing and helping with the implementation of a new product. The product is a new application for the call system that will make serving customers much easier and more efficient (reduce service time from 15 to 5 minutes).

The consultant begins talking about the product and explaining the details of how to use the new product. He also explains how the product will be different from your old application and how it will benefit you and the customers. He also explains, upon being asked from a fellow employee, that the system will be implemented immediately.

The consultant finishes his presentation and you and your fellow employees leave the conference room to head back to your computer terminal. Upon walking back to your terminal, you begin thinking about how this new application will change your job
