Bio-fertilizer is a substance which may be applied as a soil amendment or directly to sub-soil plant surfaces. It consists of live microorganisms which impart some agricultural benefit to the plants for which they are applied. Some examples of bio-fertilizer categories are plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPR, N fixing bacteria, and mycorrhizal fungi. The use of bio-fertilizers may reduce the necessary rates of chemical inputs, improve growth parameters (most importantly, yield, improve resistance to abiotic stresses and/or pests, and improve soil conditions related to structure and organic matter content.

Reduced need for chemical fertilizer
Reduced need for chemical pesticide
Resistance to stress, pests
Increased yield
Environmental preservation
Improved soil conditions
Lower costs associated with total production

What brand name(s) of bio-fertilizer or bio-fertilizer manufacturer name(s) do you know? If none, write “none.” Also, it is appropriate here to search for names of products or companies. However, if you enter a name that you searched for after reading this survey, please indicate that the name was obtained through a recent search by typing an “ * ” after the name. Limit a maximum of three names total.
