Our Current Task: Identifying the places that Pivot can and does make an impact

Through a brainstorm with the Regional Directors, we identified the following six major areas. Our thought is that all projects make an impact in one or more of these areas – how large an impact and how many people/systems are affected would be determined by the size and scope of the contract.

These are the places that Pivot can and does make an impact in the districts where we work:
1. Common Core implementation for all students (including EL, other sub-groups)
2. Leadership effectiveness
3. District and/or School Culture (for example: engagement, trust, motivation)
4. Central office systems – capacity, efficiency, transformation
5. Team effectiveness (for example: PLCs)
6. School level systems & leadership

Directions: Please review these six areas, thinking about each of your projects. Have we captured the essence of all projects? Are there any projects that don’t seem to fall under any of these buckets – if so, which? What are some details you would add under any of the areas as we think about these?

NOTE: For this exercise, don’t worry about how we might measure impact. We are focusing on clarifying the “buckets” first, then will move onto measuring.
