Dear Director of Clinical Training,

Thank you for taking the time to participate in our research study, “A Survey of Postdoctoral Training in Forensic Psychology.” Your assistance will aid in our current understanding of forensic psychology practice and provide information that will help improve our current systems of training for competent, ethical, practitioners of forensic psychology as postdoctoral fellows make the transition between the predoctoral internship and independent, licensed practice (and potentially as a board certified forensic psychologist).

You will be asked to respond to a 37-item survey, including brief demographic information and information regarding your postdoctoral training program. We are specifically interested in the amount of emphasis placed on various aspects of forensic psychology in your training model.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. Participation in this survey is not required by anyone including staff affiliated with Central State Hospital --staff may choose not to participate and it will have no impact on their positions at the facility/agency. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project beyond any fatigue or eye strain that occurs from typical computer use. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point or choose to skip that question. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.
This study is being conducted by Matthew L. Eisenhard, Psy.D., Postdoctoral Fellow in Forensic Psychology, and by Angela N. Torres, Ph.D., ABPP, Chief Forensic Coordinator at Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Dr. Eisenhard at (804) 524-4473 or [email protected] or Dr. Torres at (804) 524-7054 or [email protected].

Thank you very much for your time and support. By clicking the "Continue" button below you are acknowledging that you have read and understand the risks and benefits of participation in this research project and are consenting to participate in this study.
