Voluntary Arts Board self assessment and skills audit

INTRODUCTION

The first part of this survey is a questionnaire designed to help the Board assess how well it functions and identify areas where the Board might improve. Please read each responsibility carefully and give each a rating. Answer based solely on your own understanding or experience at this point in time.

The second part of this survey is a skills audit. Please indicate what skills, knowledge or experience you possess and can bring to the Voluntary Arts Board and whether you feel the Board need more or less expertise than it currently has in relation to each of the listed skills.

This audit has been adapted from the audit developed by Sound Sense which was devised following models from National Council for Voluntary Organisations, Help the Hospices, and Advantage West Midlands

Getting the right mix of skills, experiences and qualities is a key ingredient in building an effective board of trustees. A skills audit is a tool to help board identify why skills, knowledge or experience they contribute and need.
