You are invited to participate in our survey the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP)ICD-10 Readiness. In this survey, approximately forty-six hospitals will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about ICD-10 readiness. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.

Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. This training will provide the student with an understanding of the purpose of coded data and the role it plays in the overall reimbursement system. Topics such as compliance, quality, clinical documentation improvement and ethics will also be addressed.
This training objective is to enable students to:
Explain the coding and reimbursement systems utilized in the US
• Define coding compliance, and fraud and abuse
• Define the coding process and element that impact this process
• Explain the purpose of coded data (quality care, research, reimbursement, etc.)
