Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 or FERPA is a federal law, brought into effect to protect the privacy of student education records.

The law ensures a parent or an eligible student has the right to inspect and review educational records, seek to have them amended, and have certain types of control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information (PII) from the records.

The law is applicable to all the schools receiving funds under applicable programs of the U.S. Department of Education.

Being a SaaS provider, we have numerous clients who knowingly or unknowingly might collect sensitive students data tagged as confidential under FERPA. However, at QuestionPro we have a policy to strictly comply with all the federal data privacy laws. That is why we practice stringent administrative and technical standards to forbid unauthorized persons from gaining access to any such student data labeled as confidential under FERPA.

1. Survey administrator is the sole owner of the data collected through surveys.
2. Even the survey administrator is allowed to access the data after logging into the site by providing his/her username and password.
3. We never share any information uploaded to the system by any 3rd parties.
4. Any requests by partnering companies to share personally identifying information are initiated solely by the user, and it will be clearly indicated that a partnering company offers the requested service.
5. We strictly remove all staff accounts as soon as their employment with us ends.
