Survey Preview

Survey preview allows you to test your survey easily. It allows you to test the user experience as to how the respondents would see and interact with your survey. With the survey preview, you can easily and repetitively test your survey with and without: logic, validation, and other settings.

Survey preview makes testing your survey a breeze and the data collected can easily be deleted to start live data collection with a blank slate.

You can use survey preview under Edit as well as the Distribute navigation menu under Surveys.

Go to: Login » Surveys (Select Survey) » Edit

You will find the blue preview button with the eye icon near the top right beside the live survey link.

Clicking on the preview button will open the survey preview in a new tab.

To make survey testing easy, following options are available:

Select Block: You can directly jump to any of the blocks in the survey by selecting the required block.

URL Variable: Use URL variable option for testing custom variables that can be passed via the survey URL, update the variable and value and test the survey.

Validation: You can disable validation when testing a survey so you don't need to answer validated questions every time.

Logic: You can disable logic to test the survey questions.

Page Breaks: You can disable page breaks and look at all questions in a single page.

Share Preview Link: Click on the share icon to share preview link for your survey with your fellow researchers and colleagues. You can enable password protection for shared URL.

Preview Device: You can select to view how the survey look in a specific device. You can select from the desktop view or tab or mobile view.

Responses saved when using the preview survey option are saved with the text test_response in the external reference variable for every response.

You can view this in the response viewer and this information is part of all raw data exports.

Go to: Login » Surveys (select a survey) » Analytics

Select the responses option from the drop down under dashboard.

Go to: Login » Surveys (select a survey) » Analytics

Select the Delete option from under Manage Data dropdown.

Under Delete, click on the Clear Responses option from the Clear All Test Responses section.
