Text Highlighter
What is Text Highlighter question type?
QuestionPro offers a question type called, Text Highlighter where, you can add a text as a question and collect feedback on the text. The respondents can select words from the text and evaluate using answer options such as like or dislike. We provide an interactive text highlight visualization that helps to analyze the text with different shades of color heatmap.

How do I add a text highlighter question?
To add a text highlighter question:
- Go to:Login » Survey (select a survey) » Edit » Workspace
- Click on the add question button
- Under advanced question types » image/multimedia, click on Text Highlighter question
Text Highlighter question will appear as follows:
You can see default answer options - Like and Dislike. You can also add answer options by clicking on Add Option.
You can choose your own color for the respective answer option. Click on the color as shown in the image below and change the color from color picker.
How do respondents answer the text highlighter question in your survey?
The text highlighter question will appear to the respondents as follows:
Here, the respondents need to click on the text and select the answer option. Respondents can provide their feedback in the comment section and click save to complete the survey.
How do I view the report of text highlighter question?
To view the report for text highlighter question:
- Go to: Login » Surveys (select a survey) » Analytics » Text Analysis » Text Highlighters.
- Here, you will see the text highlighted with the color heatmap. You can click on the answer options below the text to analyze selected answer option.
- Based on the respondent count the intensity of highlight varies. The text with highest count will be highlighted with dark shade when compared to text with low respondent selection.
- Enabling the comments toggle will list out the comments provided by the respondents.
