User Roles and Permissions

What is a user role?

A user role represents a collection of users that are assigned permissions by an administrator to perform similar actions or functions. There are two standard roles named User and Super Admin added by default to every QuestionPro organization which are not editable/deletable. The super admin can add new custom roles and assign it to other users. The super admin can also provide permission to add new users to other users by selecting the user management permissions while creating a role.

How to create a new user role?

To create a new user role for your QuestionPro organization please follow the steps below:

Go to Surveys » Organization >> Roles
Click on the Add new Role button.

In the pop-up, enter a name for the role and select all the permissions you want to provide to the new user role
Click on the Create Role button.

You can now see the new role added in the list of user roles.

How to assign the custom role to an existing user?

To assign new custom role to an existing user please follow the steps below:

Go to Surveys » Organization » Users
Click on the email adress of the user or the edit icon on the right hand side of the user's details to edit the user.

Select the new custom role from the Role drop-down menu
Click on the Save Changes button.

What are the user permissions?

The user permissions are the access to the features given to the user within their QuestionPro account. Following are the permissions, distributed in six categories, which you can see while creating a new role:

Can I assign a single role to multiple users?

Yes. You can assign a single role to multiple users in a few clicks. To do so, please follow the steps below:

Go to Surveys » Organization » Users
Select the users to whom you want to assign the role
Click on the Change Role button in the table header.
In the pop-up, select the role from the drop-down menu
Click on the Assign Role button.

Can I edit a role or update some permissions for a role?

Yes. To edit a role, you can simply go to Surveys » Organization » Roles and click on the role name. In the pop-up, you can change the permissions and click on the Save Changes button. The updates in the permissions will be automatically reflected in all the user accounts to whom this specific role was assigned.

What will happen if I delete a role?

If a custom role is deleted then a default role named "User" will be assigned to all the users who were bearing the deleted custom role.

Is it possible to block the edition of surveys but allow the distribution and analytics?

‎‎In user roles, is it possible to completely block the editing of the survey but allow the user with a designated role to distribute or analyze the information of the responses of a survey?‏‏‎ ‎
